DESCRIPTION:Training developed by the North Carolina Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center covering Seizures in Child Care and Emergency Treatment. Participants will understand and recognize seizures\, learn strategies for including a child with seizures in early care and education\, and identify community resources and support. SUMMARY:Week of the Young Child Celebration 2023
DESCRIPTION:This event is for early childhood educators\, directors and owners in childcare.  \n  \nThis year we will celebrate Week of the Young Child® on Saturday April 15\, 2023 at Blue Ridge Community College. Dr. Kimberly Johnson will speak on the topic\, Educators as Everyday C.O.A.C.H.E.S from 11:00-12:30 and then lunch will be served along with the chance to win some awesome giveaways. Registration and lunch are FREE. \nThis interactive session will focus on activities that will increase autonomy and leadership within the setting. Through the strategies presented\, educators will learn how to increase creativity\, communication\, and motivation. Participants will engage in activities that are designed for immediate use. The session will encourage educators to become stronger listeners and learn to re-examine their own attitudes toward challenging situations. Tools for building student/family confidence will be addressed. Participants will also examine how they can use their experiences to further enhance the development of positive interactions\, self-efficacy\, and cohesion. Dr. Kimberly P. Johnson will have participants up\, engaging and learning in this high-energy session. We all have the ability to be Everyday COACHES!! \nPresenter: Dr. Kimberly Johnson\, Children’s author and educator\, Dr. Johnson grew up in Shelby\, NC.  She is the author of 22 children’s books. Kimberly received her Doctorate in Curriculum\, Teaching\, and Leadership from Northeastern University in Boston\, MA and also holds a Master’s Degree from Clemson University\, in Youth Development and Leadership.
