Transition for kids can be smoother

Transitions happen and children watch adults model how to navigate them. Approaching this return-to-school time in a conscious way can reduce stress for everyone and teach children life skills. Remember how you felt? Your child may or may not share these same reactions.

Find one-on-one time to talk with each child about the up-coming transition back to school. Ask open-ended questions that can’t be answered with yes or no (or a grunt).
