The Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child® is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  The week-long celebration will take place this year from April 6- April 12. Some communities celebrate the “Month of the Young Child.” However, celebrated the purpose remains the same to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs that serve them.

The Children & Family Resource Center along with NAEYC recognizes the importance of educating young children and honoring those who teach.

We celebrated a little early this year! The conference was held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Blue Ridge Community College. Early Childhood Educators had the oppportunity to earn 3 credit hours through our amazing keynote speaker Sarah Catherine Rhodes and numerous breakout sessions.
