Child Care Resource & Referral

The Child Care Resource & Referral Program (CCR&R) helps child care facilities maintain or improve the quality of child care.

This is accomplished in the following areas of emphasis:

  • Professional Development: We provide information, guidance, and advice to an individual/group about professional growth, career options, and pathways to obtain or meet required qualifications.
  • Trainings in 9 topic areas that encompass: classroom learning environments, health and safety of children, interactions between teacher and child, developmentally appropriate practices and program management. To access our training calendar, visit this page. To review our Training Registration Policies and Procedures click here.
  • On-site Technical Assistance: Our team offers free quality enhancement consultation to child care providers in areas of staff development, classroom practices and or to maintain or improve their facility star ratings.
  • Kindergarten Readiness: We work in collaboration with child care facilities, Henderson County Public Schools, WNC Source, and Smart Start of Henderson County for intentional parent outreach and education. Workshops on getting children ready for kindergarten are also provided for child care providers and parents.
