CFRC Awarded $150,000 to Support Hurricane Helene Recovery

Children & Family Resource Center has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy through the Truist Foundation Western North Carolina Recovery and Resiliency Fund to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in Henderson County.

This funding increases CFRC’s total grant award to $250,000 and will directly support the organization’s Disaster Response Program, with a focus on long-term housing recovery and disaster case navigation services.

Through this work, CFRC helps families still impacted by Hurricane Helene access safe housing, essential resources, and individualized support as they rebuild their lives.

“Families are still navigating the long road to recovery,” said Executive Director Emily Balcken. “This funding ensures we can continue to provide the support and stability they need to move forward.”

CFRC is grateful to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy and Truist Foundation for investing in Western North Carolina’s recovery and resilience.
