Children & Family Resource Center Receives $45,000 Grant to Expand Triple P Parenting Program
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — Children & Family Resource Center (CFRC) has received a $45,000 grant from the Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy to support the organization’s Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), an evidence-based initiative that equips parents and caregivers with practical tools to build stronger family relationships and help children thrive.
This funding was awarded during the Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy’s April 2026 grant cycle and will help CFRC increase access to parenting education and support services for families throughout Henderson County.
Triple P is one of the world’s most widely researched parenting programs. Designed to strengthen parenting confidence and skills, the program helps families create positive home environments, encourage healthy child development, establish effective routines, and address common behavioral challenges before they become more serious concerns. More than 35 years of research and hundreds of studies have demonstrated positive outcomes for children, parents, and families.
“Strong families are the foundation of a strong community,” said Emily Balcken, Executive Director of Children & Family Resource Center. “This generous investment from Sisters of Mercy of North Carolina Legacy allows us to reach even more Henderson County families with evidence-based tools that help build resilience and establish healthy foundations for child development”.
The grant aligns with CFRC’s mission of strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect through education, support, and community connections. CFRC offers Triple P groups in English and in Spanish, as well as individual Triple P which provides family-centered, individualized support for parents and caregivers who are dealing with more challenging behaviors.
