Parental addiction’s impact on children

It goes without saying that children need nurturing, safe and stable environments to help them grow up healthy. The quality of interactions with adult parents or caregivers will shape children’s brain architecture as it grows, creating the foundation for their future learning and development. We know that substance abuse does impact the quality of those parent-child interactions and a parent’s ability to provide a safe and stable environment.
